This 63 Fuelie was so sweet. The resto was perfect but it was the top that was really cool. There was nobody around to ask if it was a factory prototype or home made but the quality was fantastic.
x2 We don't usually favor "practical" around here, unless it's disguised Show rods, bubble tops, feds, single seat racers, chopped sectioned and channeled, 3x2's, 4x2's, 6x2's, blowers, slicks... practical is for the rest of the world, i'll stick to rods and customs.
If it's actual glass it's probably a factory prototype, if it's plexi it may be homemade, but the fit and finish says it's a factory styling exercise to me. Either way it's a convertible vette with a removable... i guess you could call it, hardtop.
There was no seam at the black edges. It was all one smooth piece of lexan and the inside was painted with a perfect edge to hide the hardware on the lip. The factory drip rail molding was on it. It looked perfect. The shape was absolutely perfect too. If it was not factory it was one hell of an example of excellent craftsmanship.
