I have a 368 Lincoln that I got in a basket. It came with several rocker arms. I have been told that 368 Lincoln's have a higher rocker ratio that other earlier engines. So i wanted to see what all i had. I put a rocker shaft in my mill vise and set a bar in the chuck, against the adjuster screw. Then I set a stroke indicator against the other, valve, end. I then moved the table in .100 on the DRO and read the indicator to see what happened. Pretty simple really. But it took me quite some time to think of it. Then I am old and slow. Good thing I gave myself the DRO for my 70th birthday.

Good idea Rich. What is the ratio for the 368? Are all your rockers the same?

I have only done a couple so far. Seem to be 1.6 something. I need to just use the end of the shaft for all the rockers so that i don't move things around and affect the readings. I have been told that 371s are 1.5. But so far all the rockers I have checked have been 1.6 something. Tomorrow I will get serious and do them all with repeatability.
