Yes, I deleted it. There were far too many off topic billet wheel pics for me to edit it so it was deleted

Danny, you know you are my guy... But man, half those pictures were of modern cars. Take those away and it was good coverage. What were you thinking? :)

I dunno man... I'd guess at least 30% of the photos were off topic. It's not hard to weed out the bad ones and it takes us FOREVER to edit threads like that. Could have easily gotten an hour or two wrapped up in editing...

Yup, I counted them, 32 off topic pics. I thought about editing at first but when I saw how many billet wheel pics there were I had no choice

Mark do you consider any polished 5 spoke mag a billet wheel? HRP

Not lookn’ to contradict ya Mark, but I’ve always thought the first aluminum American Torque Thrust came out in 1965. This May 1965 ad is the earliest I have seen. 103F9B26-7669-4074-8FA8-8B97B900F00E.jpeg

I believe the Torq Thrusts debuted in 1963 but they were magnesium then.

I believe the first shown in print Magnesium 5 spoke was this December 1959 blurb. The first use of the Torque Thrust monicker being this June of 1960 American magnesium ad. 03B344DF-0B47-4E7B-82E8-C2FA6A81CDFB.jpeg EFAD6146-C008-4BAB-818F-51AAF55D7CA1.jpeg

The key is wheel/ tire size.
Way back when for the most part 14 and 15 inch wheels were HAMB ERA.

The only exception I can think about is like old Indy cars that had Halibrand magnesium wheels with tall 18 inch tires.

The street trend going to 16, 17,18….20 wheels etc took off in the 2000s.

I know this much, no matter what comfort suspension you use, the big wheel / low profile rubber band tires ride like brick ****.
