Yes, I remember fixing my girlfriend's dad's car for oil leak. Had to tap the timing cover back to together wher the chain had worn it, braze it up(remember brazing), new oil seal, re-purposed steel gears and chain from another low mileage motor. Good to go. Took that motor out later, and used it in my pickup.
There are good 283's, 327's, and 350's, some even built coming out for LS motors; just need to be in the right place. Guy in one of garages here, just got a fresh 383, just cause the new owner had to have a new LS. Keep your ears open. Sent from my Nexus 5X using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
yep, lots of cheap SBCs and speed parts due to LS swaps https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/why-i-like-ls-engines-cl-score.1022957/
Just picked up another good running set-up displaced by a LS/4L swap today. Yeh it's a 307; but hey! Sent from my Nexus 5X using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
true I just hate how they look especially in the stuff seen here a muscle car or later truck......thats a different story
bought this 350+30 over from a friend for 1 K from carb to oil in the pan fresh motor "77 4 bolt truck block...he had it as a spare in a heated garage... they are out there just put the w ord out to your buddies and see what happens by...lotta LS swap outs for the cheap..passed up a 454 complete motor from a Chevelle($1700) , guy had to have an LS..good luck
Like a butter face girlfriend? With a small amount of effort you can get them looking much better, Have a look around at what some ingenious guys have done. You'll need trained eyes to catch its an ls and not what it appears to be.
Anthony that is a good choice. Did a 78 Malibu that I bought just for the Caddy 500 swap. It is a sweet motor.
