I saw an old Anglia Gasser yesterday that had an sbc & 4 speed. The bellhousing had "Corvette pass" cast into it. I've never seen this before, has anyone else? I couldn't see too well, but it looked like the valve cover bolts were staggered, so I'm guessing '50s or early '60s.
just means Corvette and Passenger car applications....truck b/housings were slightly different (clutch fork hole location, bolt sizes, threaded vs non-threaded holes for trans dj
it's an aftermarket cast scattershield, early 60s, there are pics of some in the Safety article in the 1962 Hot Rod magazine yearbook
Cool! I'm not really a Chevy guy but it doesn't hurt to learn this stuff just for the hell of it. I keep thinking about buying it, but haven't owned a Chevy motored car in nearly 30 years, so I'd be going "back to school" a bit.
