Customs Chevrolet Impala picture thread

Rick May's 59. He still has that car, I see it often during the summer. Still looks great.

 

Walt Nichols 1958 Impala "Quiet Village" built as a sibling to Taboo.

 

one of the few 60's my grandfather owned over the decades. This one he bought with a blown 283 and he went down to the local Chevy dealer and bought a 327 short block and stuck in it.

 

This was the 61 Impala my grandfather ordered in the summer/fall of 1960 after graduating high school. 348/350hp, 4 speed, 3.73 posi, a push ****on radio was all the option he checked for this car. He met and dated my grandmother in the car and it was sold right before they got married to cover the wedding and get a place to live.

 

That original 61 left its mark as back when I was in middle school, my grandfather found a near identical 61 in town and was able to talk the owner into selling it. He stuck a 348 tri power in it and had alot of fun with it for year, but then put it up for sale to finish the restoration on Taboo. The moment it left the driveway he regretted selling it. Well about 2 years ago now right after my grandmother p***ed away he really wanted to track the car down again and amazingly the guy he sold it to still had the car and was ready to sell it. So made a deal and the car came back home again. Have done some changes to it, mainly get some steel wheels and white wall back on it and right now wrapping up dropping a dual quad 409 into the car.

My dad’s car just a few years old and the trophy he won at the drag strip. 1962 SS with a 4 speed he traded the car in to get my mom a new Bonneville in1966 when I was born.

My 63 that my parents bought new, 283 powerglide, 78000 miles. I repainted the gold in about 1985, all original except for that.

 

My grandpa bought this ‘64 SS new , and left it to me in 1975 ; with 50,000 miles on her: View attachment 6721039
