I tried, just quickly in my mind, to amass a list of cars NOT named after someone. It's a pretty short list and most, if not all, have been around for some time. There are the acronym cars, SAAB and FIAT. There is GMC (not an acronym). Nissan, been around since pre WWII. Subaru is named after a star cluster, so they may be hiding behind a bogus name and a phalanx of lawyers. Saturn, clearly an homage to the aliens who have secretly infiltrated the upper echelons of corporate America and the Government and are, even now, controlling our thoughts. There could be a link between them and Subaru, but it is, largely, unsubstantiated. I believe they are, also, behind Victory motorcycles and it is a prophetic statement. Hyundai (rhymes with Sunday) and Kia are made up names, so avoid them at any cost. They are evil. Acura, Lexus and Infiniti don't even exist in Japan or most other countries. No one is hiding, however. They are a ploy to get stupid Americans to pay a premium for cars that are badged as Honda, Toyota and Nissan in most other markets. It's working quite well for them
