Got a question about the difference in horsepower between the make years 56-58 and 59-62. The latest 235's have only about 135Hp at 4000rpm and the earlier have up to 145Hp at 4200rpm but what is different in the engines? They still have the same comp ratio 8.25? Is there another cam in the later 235s?
Hi. I should know but my brain is evidently ****tered today. That should be way too early in time for some later HP reductions due to the lousy gas that came on the market. If nobody here comes up with the answer You might try logging onto the VCCA website & see if you can get into their forums as surely someone there should have an answer. My 57 235 engine shown in my avatar installed in my 46 Coupe has a bit more than the 145 but not sure how much it actually puts out. Jimmie
