Technical Chevy 3100 brakes

Hey guys. Installing front discs on my 50 3100. Caliper brackets are hitting the steering stops/ kingpin lock pin. Am i doing something wrong? 11" kit and im using the caliper bracket spacers.

What's it like if you take the stop off?

If okay, fab a new stop.

 

I guess I could. Just thought its weird as this is all supposed to bolt up. Just wondering if Im not seeing something.
