Hot Rods Chevy 6 Linkage Question

I have a stock 292" Chevy 6 with a Powerglide. I need to connect the kickdown arm. It fits in the ****** good but there is no hole to attach it to on the throttle linkage. I'll have to fabricate something. My question is this:
Is the kickdown arm supposed to move the same direction as the throttle arm, or do they move in opposite directions?

 

...I don't know if a 230 ci with powerglide is the same but if you send me a email address I can send you a few pics showing the linkage,...I tried to upload the pics but there to big....Miller
