I bought an old Tool/Parts chest that came out of a Chevy dealer and it's got a bunch of NOS parts in it. Does anyone know where I can find a good cross-reference resource to identify what cars these parts fit? Many of them are marked "Fits Chevy 33-54" but a lot of them like the carb gasket kits just have a GM part number on them. TIA
Reprints of early Chevy parts books are available. All start with 1929(first year of the I-6 engine)then the year of the latest car they list parts for inside. When dealing with early stuff always try and get a copy of the book with the last number nearest the year of your car on the plus side, i.e., 1929-36 if you have a 36 or earlier car.
Worked for a couple of them, but came up empty on most. Since it looks like almost all of the other parts are for 35-50 Chevy, I might try working backwards and looking up the parts by year/model and see what I can find. Of course, I'm not even sure what some of the parts actually are so I guess I'll end up just eBay-ing those as a lot of misc parts.
Chevrolet Master Parts Catalogs are a great reference for parts. I used on all the time in my ebay days. http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/1929_57chevyparts/index.htm
