ahewetson knows how to built em!!!! here is one i am screwing to gether. its a 62 wagon with a jw rod garage bolt in front clip and a tci rea 4 link. both front and rear kits have been heavily modified to get it to sit 3" lower all the way around with NO air ride.
OK, I've tried to explain myself and obviously missed. My "it's not a Nova" comment was not meant toward you or anyone here. I was not calling you anything. That is what goes through the minds of us that have Chevy IIs. You and others took my comment out of context thinking that I was calling you a dumbass, I don't call anyone on this or any forum names such as that. I'm sorry you thought it was meant toward you, as you can see it wasn't. By the way, I know a little history about first gens, mine was my high school car in the early 70s.
The original builders name was Rick Dobbertin. I think he still owns the car. It was back to back 1982-83 street machine of the year. Many awards and magazines.
my first purpose built drag car was a 62 chevy II---called it the double deuce or oh yeah just the deuce---studied up on all that chev two /nova crap and it put me to sleep ...still does ---got a 63 hardtop that i am gathering parts to build an axle car out of ---just going to be a drag car for now---might alter the wheel base but i like that look better on a sedan---looking for a donor axle got an olds rear already set up
That is some crazyness going on there! Dual draw through turbos feeding into a bugatcher on top of a 6-71? Mental. I hope it wasn't all for show with a q-jet hidden inside the blower or somthing. Because that would be some cool s*** to see running.
My motherhad a silver-blue 63 that looked just like that one; it was the first car I ever drove, back when I was 12 years old... Mine was a '66 that I bought in high school (spring of 1977), just a tad new for here on the HAMB but maybe it'll provide you some inspiration: Al in TN
Didn't the name depend on the car? The way I remember it, most Chevy II's were sedans... I thought. I know the hard tops and connvertables that I've owned had NOVA emblems on the front fenders(1963?) and some on the rear 1/4 panels.
