I'm good with the ruling, I get it.
I've seen a few threads where the cutoff was allowed to be fudged if the car/s in question were a continuation of the "vetted" ones.
Kind of like how the 60-66 Chevy trucks are with the 66 being nearly identical to the 65's.
Here is a little known fact outside the Chevy II world, the first year of the third generation cars (1968) were still badged as Chevy II's.
So glad the mods chose not to close the thread.

I get the ruling, too, I just feel that every once in a while the "powers that be" can turn their heads
away from what's going on. Oh well, I waited too long to post photos of my all time fave Chevy II,
a '66 sedan raced at Oswego Drag Raceway called "The Barbarian" owned by Jerry Wagner.

Traded my first "car" a 62 4 wheel drive Chevy truck for this 64 Nova. Had it for 6 weeks and was in a head-on crash. Friends helped me put a 63 front end on it and another friend's father put red paint on it. Played with 4 speeds, different V8s, and headers. This was in 1979. I still have the car, fits like that leather coat. I found the original Nova block before it was chained to a buoy for a sailboat mooring. Its white now and is driven. It won an original Nova plaque at the Chevy Nationals at Carlisle this past summer. July WT President's message picture 001.jpg October picture 001.jpg catamount 011.JPG

    Chevy II trivia time.

Fact 50: Small-block 283 and 327 V-8s destined for factory (or over-thecounter kit) installation in 1962–1967 Chevy IIs and Novas had a special block casting, which repositioned the oil filter mounting pad 2 inches higher. These blocks bear specific casting numbers that read 3862194 (283) or 3790721, 3791362, 3791363 (283 and 327). Factory-sourced Chevy II fuel pumps, fuel lines, exhaust manifolds, and oil pans also differ from items used in larger passenger car applications.
