    HAMBers,

Here's a head scratcher for you. My Dad would like some more info on this Kleenex Box that somebody gave him for doing a little bit of machine work. I was wondering if there's a website out there where I can track down some info on these or even find out how much they're worth.

Looks about right, I've never been a Chevy guy though, so I'm not sure. I've had a couple Buick's, though. Sadly none of them have cool accessories like that.

Anyway, I hope you find what you're looking for. Are you going to put that in a car, or put it up on the mantle somewhere?

I'm not sure what he's going to do with it. Dad's got a '55 Chevy that he wants to restore soon, but he may look to see what he can get out of it, if it's worth something to somebody.

Squirrel, thanks for the link to the re-pop on eBay. This one does look original.

you're welcome. My guess is the mounting bracket on that one fits 61-62 chevy full size cars only.

according to the link I posted above, your's would be an original, not a repro. The Clark's site says the repro would have a label emblem. The originals would be a metal trim which is what your pics look like.

I have one in my '63 Nova. Might come in handy for those amorous nights with my wife.

  15. It is an original. The repops don't have the "Auto-Serv" Kleenex stamp in them.........E

  16. I've got one of those in my truck.

They offered that as a dealer-installed accessory for several years, but '63 was the last year.

I've got another one at home that has a different bracket, and I've got one around that's a little older where the Chevy emblem isn't stuck on there and there are just decorative holes. There were a few different styles over the years.

My grandad was a used car dealer, and they happened to have a bunch of those around that they took out of cars, so mine is original. Your's probably is too.

You can buy a reproduction for $100 or so. But as far as what it's worth, maybe just check out eBay and see what they're going for.

My Dad has a N.O.S. one for a 53-4 Chevy. Never installed and still in it's original box. If I remember right, his is a little different from the one pictured and has a Chevy logo that looks more like the ones on the 53 and 54. I need to dig it up and post some photos of it.

On another thread, I think someone mentioned using a tissue holder to provide a hidden mount for a CD player.
    Sounded like a good idea.

In junior high school, a friend's mom had a nice 57 Chev four door hardtop - it had a Kleenex dispenser, a vacuum cigarette disposal (gl*** jar filled up and you asked the LOF guys to empty it at service intervals. That car also had power windows and seats...but I don't think it had A/C...

those old OEM accessories are worth some money to restorers, or just guys that want unusual stuff for their cars. I sold a 56 Vette Radio (signal seeking) to a Corvette restoration shop several years ago for what (at the time) was a ton of money. As has been repeated many times....original is original and when they quit making them...the law of supply and demand take over.
