Is anyone here looking for an OMC (marine) "Iron Duke" engine for their build? https://www.bidspotter.com/en-us/au...0014/lot-ae26d41e-f5ec-47da-a4ed-abd801252fd7
Can someone recommend spark plugs for 181, 10.2CR, ported head etc.. Thanks Getting close to firing it up.
Yeah it’s all open drive. I’ve got a S-10 5 speed trans. 8” Ford rear. Clifford manifold with a Weber carb.
I have a 9” going in with a four link have Clifford intake and header hot coated Rts Ford 26 percent over drive 12 bolt valve cover and side plat
Got an American Bantam, same basic thing. The chassis came along and I grabbed it thinking I might use it in the build but now it's just sitting there. Thinking about making a go kart of some sort
I just bought a rear sump oil pan just to make sure it would would fit these. It is for an early a 2.5 from a Jeep CJ5,CJ7, CJ8 from '80-'83.
I'd try to find the one that goes with the pan. I think the difference is the pickup tube. What I'm trying to figure out is the dipstick.
I'm not really sure if there is a problem with the dipstick. It goes in a hole in the block it would be crazy to use two different pans and only have the dipstick work on one. I haven really checked it yet. Yeah Tim, maybe a dry sump?
Just the one I'm using. I have another rear sump pan from a Jeep. I think it is from a 151. You might try a pickup tube from a Jeep. The oil pump is the same.
Went to advance auto they can get the pump and pick up tube 349 may see if a cheaper one pops up I would think that it would work though
That seems like a lot. I wish there were real wrecking yards. There were also 153s in some DJ mail Jeeps. I don't know what pans they used. I also don't know what other 151s had rear sumps, even some of the cross mount front wheel drives?
I'll have to look at them again. I got distracted. I've been tripping over them while trying to clean the shop. I'll post some pictures of the two. Yes, one is 153 and one is 151.
I fit a rear sump 151pan on a 153….I had to massage the pan for oil pump clearance and tweak the width slightly. Then sheet metal work the rear main seal pan lip to fit the 151. It all worked out ok…
OK, just tripped over them again but I measured the rear seal area. I just put a board across the gasket surface and measured the deepest part of the rear seal area. The 153 is 1 3/4" and the 151 is 2 1/8". So they are not the same. I think it would easy to make a spacer to fill the void.
