Hi, I have 30 coupe (ford) on a 32 frame. I'm putting a 396 bbc in it. Doe's anyone have the measurement, say from the rad. mount to roughly the center of the motor mount? The mounts are I believe they are called biscuit mounts. They have the round rubber in the middle between the frame bracket and the engine bracket with a nut and bolt through the middle of it. Just want a ball park measurement to start with for the mockup. Thanks bbd1

Don't make the mistake I did and put the mounts on before the fan and radiator were installed.
1/2" to 1" off might as well be a foot.

you could take every model A out there and the number would be different

best advice i have for you is Mock and fit.
trust me there is no majic number
1/4" could make or break a done deal..and too many different set ups out there to carve a number in stone.

Im not being a ****,, but this aint paint by numbers

take what you have and what your going to use and start fitting it all up..that will tell you where it needs to be, you'll understand what im saying after you've done it, or a few

there are things like "firewall set back".."trans used"..carb and intake..3 deuces? more? big cap dizy?..magneto?..even axle set ups and with or without hood..you name it..it makes a difference..
or the rake and look your going for..right down to ride height and how high you want your engine in the frame ..or how low..the list is longer than my.......
its a planned fit kinda thing

Von Rigg Fink is correct. Every one is different a ballpark measurement will get you in trouble. Mock it up....Too many variables. Ask pals to help....Good luck

yep yer on the right track..

try to hang as much **** that you intend to use on it too..manifolds, intakes carbs distributor..starter..etc.. the more you have it like it would be finished dressed the better feel you will have for where it needs to be..
include fan and radiator too..hood top (if used)..and rad. shell..the more the merrier and you will feel better once you strike that arc. and put that mount where it needs to be..its always best to measure twice and weld once..because cutting **** back off ****s

i took a week to place my engine ..exactly where i wanted it..a few beers and a lawn chair, some pieces of wood and many angles of looking at it and having a level on the carb base as the frame or ch***is sat at ride rake and height..im really happy i took the time to..because so far everything is falling into place exactly as i had planned

Von Rigg is correct, and trust me it only takes putting that cart in front of the horse one time (in my case 2 times) to NEVER want to do it again!!

Mocking and fitting has just started ..it will follow you all the way thru this build..
if you want nice fit and the "right look" to stuff..Mocking it is the only way to get it right

I cant tell you how many times i have had my engine in and out, and how many times ive had the body on and off this project in the past year alone..

find a real easy way to do it..cause youll be doing it alot

were here to help..as much as we can.
somethings have to meet with your approval only, and somethings have to fit the only way they will, given your set ups and design..
hey if it were easy everyone could do this, right?
hang in there, this is the fun part:D:cool:
