http://www.tristarengine.com That is where my old man buys his from, great motors, He usually gets a .30 over 350, it comes with dart iron eagle heads and a good cam, about 400 horse give or take for somewhere around $1800. I think it has a year warranty, but I know we toasted a cam about 2 years later on one and we called and they sent a new cam and lifter set out for free even after the warranty was up, great place.

  4. good friend of mine just bought a brand new , not rebuilt, 350 long block 290 horse from our local chevy dealer for $1800. comes with warranty too.

Actually you can get it through your local Chevy performance dealer.
As Fasterthanu said. Skoggins ****ey is one of the big GM performance dealers.
Gilbert Chevrolet which used to be Sallee Chevrolet is another.
    Poke around this website http://www.sallee-chevrolet.com/start.cfm
And armed with a printout of the part number of the engine you want and the price head off to your local chev parts counter to see if they will cut you a deal.
As the other guys said, tons of places sell crate motors. It all depends on what you want.
