It will with the right bell housing and clutch setup but unless you drive like your grandma it won't last. with that being said I have a buddy who has been running one behind a stout 350 in an s-10 for about five years now but he uses the 5 second rule for shifts "never change gears faster than 5 seconds"

It depends - there are two ratios available, 4.03 & 3.76 (these are the first gear). The 3.76 will last longer. As a gross generalization, the higher the first gear, the stronger the trans. The newer the trans, the better...

You're better off with a later-model V8 ******. There are several great threads on here about T5s.

Realize that the late model Mustang guys are running a fair bit of HP through theirs, so they can be built to handle some HP.

You didn't say, but if your looking to use the S-10 T5 because of its forward shifter location the S10 tailshaft can be used on the V8 Camaro/Firebird T5's. Heres how: http://www.inliners.org/Jack/T5tech.html That will give you much better gearing with your 350.

I used one behind a healthy small block in the first S10 swap I did. I used a Lakewood bellhousing, I will have to look up the part #, but I know it was for a '82-'92 F-body. It had a dual bolt pattern for the trans die, and the provision for a hydraulic slave. I used a 11" clutch, and a Chevy Astro clutch disc. 11", 14 spline, I forget teh diameter of teh input, but I think it was 1". Worked farily well, but the transmissions were fairly weak. On the plus side, I was able to pick up new (used) ******s at the junk yard for $50 bucks. But, it did get old changing them out every few weeks. Again, it can be done, but if you beat on it, it WILL break.
