chevy vega pitman arm Q

    Is it possible to straighten a chevy vega pitman arm and how safe would it b,or should i just fork out and buy a straight one as i'm a tight git?.............Marq

    If it was me, I would.

    I would use just enough heat to get it to bend and let it cool very slowly.

    can't be to far different then bending any steering arm.

    there must be modern blacksmith shops that could do it, if you are uneasy.

    probably cheaper then buying a new one.

    I've bent them so much they were reveresed. Don't worry about it. Put the splined end in a vice and heat with a rosebud. Do not force it. It will bend and not tear if it is hot enough. Let it cool on it's own.
