I'm using 15" 6-lug wheels (I think they came from a mid-60's 1/2 ton) and they have 4" backspacing. I'd like to find 2 to run on the front with something less than that, say 3 1/2" or 3". Did Chevy use different backspacing on the 6-lug 15" wheels? Any ideas of what donor vehicle to look for? Thanks.

Mazda pickups use that bolt pattern, check the backspacing on those.

Also toyota pickup trucks have that bolt pattern...On the Mazda trucks, it should be noted that only the pre 1994 models have that bolt pattern. Later ones have the Ford Ranger 5 lug pattern.

  4. As I understand wheel dimentions, all 6 lug wheels have the same diameter on the stud mounting circle. You should be able to find just about any back space you need.

You also want to measure the center hole...some of the import wheels have a smaller center hole that will not fit over the gm hubs. (The ones from four wheel drive imports will be big enough, but some of the two wheel drive ones are smaller).

You might want to check out Chevy Colorado 2wd steel wheels too.
