Funny thing is that pic must have been taken in the morning before we got in the gate. 30 minutes later everyone's car was covered with dust blown up from the dry dirt entrance road. I was less than amused..
Thank you everyone for the kind words!
Gonna buy 5 copies for my mother.

I really dig the no frills look: No flashy paint, no Bel Air trim, no decals, no fancy wheels.. speak softly but carry a big block.

Also dig the dare to be different side pipes.

Gotta take the Queen out, she puts up with all this..
I'll put up a couple pix later.
@Moriarity - Thank you for starting the thread. What month is the issue? Barnes & Noble only had August on the stand and it wasn't in there.

It is, and a new belt is on the way. Found a chunk missing from mine after a day at the track!

So far, best is 11.44 at 117 mph. Sleeping at the light & spinning.
Now, I had no expectation of any kind of glory run right away. Just hoped to not make rookie mistakes, get rained out or break parts. Of course, all of this came to pass.
Right after the 11 second run, I checked my rev limiter. 6400. Duh! Now set at 7000. just a little past peak power. Now issue with fuel pressure, got it sorted out but not starting it till the new belt comes. That thing could take out some stuff if it let go!
Race weight without me: 3660 pounds. that's with 100# ballast.

  23. Good looking engine compartment layout,,,,neat wiring,,,,good fuel plumbing.
Also,,,,I like the heat shield guarding the master cylinder from the header pipe,,,,clever .
    What size engine cid ,,,,?

Thank you for noticing. It's as much about what isn't there as what is. Everything has a purpose. The only decorating was done by Chevrolet, I haven't added to, festooned or adorned it with ''extra's''. Kinda like a chopper.

Congrats...you and that Chevy deserves some press.
I'm not afraid of very many things...I'm OK with spiders, snakes, even a pissed off wife...BUT that engine scares the shit outta me:eek:
