I watched a video from him just the other day when he was cutting the quarter off and welding the back door to it on this same project. Popped up on my feed. only seen the 1 episode and haven't watch the new one yet but saw it got added to my list to possibly watch for later.

Kyle Carter has a small garage and basic tools. He does amazing metal work. He has restored some fenders that many would scrap. He shows how he does his metal work, is articulate and one everyone could learn from him.

I've watched quite a few of his videos. At first, I thought he was a hack, and he apparently gets a lot of negative comments on his videos. But the way he was able to bring metal back around after intentionally welding it the wrong way (according to well established norms) and make it to where it needed virtually no filler....I was amazed. I mean the roof of that truck has so many pieces patched in, you'd think it would need a pretty generous coat of filler. But it looks as smooth as any high profile shop's work....at least on the videos

Big fan of Kyle and the kitties! He can do some great metal work, and talks about what's going on. It is an amazing project he's taken on.

This is going to call for some watching of his channel, now all I need to know is what the first episode with the truck in it is.

he sure got a bit of flak from cutting up the chevy that supplied metal for the truck.

just recently stumbled across those video's. looks like it will be pretty cool when he's done.

he did cut up what looked like a pretty decent 53-54 Pontiac to do it.

there were concerns about that but he shows at some point it was actually in pretty rough shape and the car isn't super desirable. a neat car but a rot bucket and parts of it will live on.

He did get a lot flak for it. But from what I saw of the pontiac, it was not all that decent. It had a lot of rot is some hard to fix areas.
Besides, he owns it. It is his to do with as he wishes. He wanted a donor, and that's what it became.

  18. Kyle is @66gmc on here. Love his channel and of course his sense of humor! He's a damn talented guy, even if he does cut up the occasional rust bucket Pontiac, albeit for a greater purpose :rolleyes:

For the guys that like bringing them back, Cold War Motors just started the 60 Impala splice.

  21. In one of his videos where he mentions fat tilt columns ruining the look on otherwise killer rods.....I totally feel that. Nothing makes me walk away bored from what I thought was a cool car at a show or cruise night faster than one of those rectal infections. Lol. Two worst offenders I tend to see with a horses rectum tilt column are tri five Chevy's and model as lol
