The two lovely ladies in the photo ( taken 57 years ago ) are at least in their late 70's or early 80's now ... if they are still with us.
It would be interesting to show them the photo and get their reaction ...

 

I would LOVE to talk to them. I wonder what they were doing there. Were they there "for the excitement" (see Hot Rod Girls thread) or were they to race? Despite the 50 year gap I bet we are more alike than I think.

Chicks good-the "open" belly tank great. Rodders Journal #38 has an article on a "new" belly tank racer "1952".
The members (including chicks) of S.C.T.A. do a great job at El Mirage.

Fantastic pic. You have to remember that the "rockabilly" styles had'nt been invented yet. This is "swing" era cool.

Maybe not. In those days they were probably there because their husbands or boy friends told them to be there.

 

Great pic. I love seeing pics of the day with wimmen folk in them. The car environment just seems to bring out thier femininity.

It's a 1951 3 P***enger Coupe (better known as a business coupe).

 

I was in grade school around then and I remember my mom looked very much like those two as did her sister who was a couple of years younger.
