I'm on the hunt for a choke cable with either a simple black knob or chrome. I wouldn't think too hard to find, but what I've found is the ones at the FLAPS look like they belong on a lawnmower, Holley sells a black one, with their name embossed on the knob, and Speedway sells one that looks like chrome in their ad, but they say is brushed finish. I looked at Brother's trucks website to see if one from a 55-59 Chev truck would work, but their pic for that one was one from an earlier truck. Anybody know where I can get a knob that looks right in a classic car without looking cheap and chintzy? Devin
Put this in the Ebay search 350447364193. Or choke cable chrome in the search. There are some RPC units and the one I showed above.
Something like this? This is a stock replacement for a '34 Chevy truck. Jim Carters or the Filling Station has them. Sent from my iPhone using TJJ*****a!
A few years ago the "Help section" in a parts store had a complete manual choke kit to eliminate a broken auto choke. The section that has lots of odd helpful pieces on red cards and bubble packs. It was pretty reasonable but you probably would need to have them order it for you. I was surprised to see that they were still available. The kit had everything needed.
Been a while, but a company called Perfection used to make universal choke/throttle kits that had plain knobs.
I just bought one for my 34 pickup from MidFifty. You can download there catalog at midfifty.com. The cable is on page 59 and the knobs & bezels are on page 39.
Try jcwhitney.com Put choke cable in your search bar. They have one made by Mr. Gasket for 10.99, and a couple others also. Jc Whitney, used to be the go to place if you wanted cheap but good, when I needed something for my car in the 60's. I haven't checked honest charley's site.
