there is a 58 buick consept car that I am gonna take some ques from. I am basicaly gonna make the body line on the side of the 60 look even more like a jet engine. I'll make the tail light look more like a jet and the front "bird" look more like a jet intake, I also dont like that part the tail lights are in. I might cut that al out there and change that shape
I havent had a lot of time to work on it but I did get the window frame don on the drivers side. the frame didnt have the body line on the rear part so I had to reskin it.
Shouldn't you strengthen the floor with some bead rolls? (serious question as I need floors in my Valiant but was under the impression you should roll the floors for strength) Looks bitchin' though. I love the deliver look. Only thing I don't care for is the lack of lean on the windshield now.
I used 14ga on the big flat pieces and the rest has brakes and edges to hold the shape. As far as the windshield "lean" goes, its the same as a 59/ 60 impala, thats what the windshield came out of
This is a Bitchin' post as well as a Bitchin' job!! I still don't get the windshield!! ( how you did it?? ) I know everyone keeps asking but maybe NOT asking the right way, Fuck it, maybe I am just HARD-HEADED!!??!?!? Are you saying you used a "stock" '59/'60 Impala windshield and did nothing except arange the frame (windshield frame) around the glass, and lean it back and weld it to the sedan's body? So is the windshield the stock height? But you chopped the hell out of the sedans roof and it fit back together (with a lot of work I know)? No matter what it looks BAD-ASS!!!...Ken
the windsheild is a stock hard top windsheild, stock angle. i used a hard top frame for the most part, but i had to use parts of the stock frame to make it mate up with the post style window frame. hope that makes sense
well.... The roof had a reverse slant that I took out, but the front at the windshield was 2". the back ended up around 1 5/8, maybe less, and I shortened it around 5" to get the right slant on the pillars
Looks really good man! A lot of the wagons that I have seen got effed up from the owner taking out too much. You hit it dead on perfect. Plans on paint yet? Keep us posted & nice job.
RAD,RAD, RAD!!!!!! Awesome work man!!!! For the NW guys, there is a '60 Delivery on craigslist, not far from me......I ain't got the $$$$... 1960 Chevy
I spy a Grant Kustoms logo.....are you building this at the shop? That would explain the amazing metal work
Congradulation on your first place. You sure do great work. I wish we lived closer to each other because I sure would like to see it in person. Steve
