I bought an 1934 delivery a little while back
thinking that i want to chop it 3-4" , lean back front window,
going to run an hilborn injected 394 and lasalle ******, no fenders.

have anyone any good pictures on a chopped one? searched the net didnt find anygoodlooking ones,
i know the bad thing bout the deliverys is to chop would make doors look very short almost will look like a he****, so not really sure it can be pulled off with good results, but still have an hunch that it can if done really right, much harder to chop it right then a coupe..
anythoughts anyone would like to share?

I wouldn't...With the setup your talking about that car would look great. There is a 34 sedan that has been listed on craigs list in colorado with a mild chop. And with the cartoon look of it there has been no takers even on trade. Start a new trend and leave the top original. It might suprise ya how much more in style you will be. And if you decide to chop it, very mild would be the other option. And you said it, (you checked the net and didn't find any good looking ones)...ghost

I like to cut things up, but I would have a hard time cutting it. I think they got it right the first time.

  5. Yeah, I'm pretty anti-chop myself. I agree with Ghost

You answered your own question, you looked on the web and didn't find a good-looking one. Probably the only way around the he**** look would be to install a coupe or sedan door (if they are longer) and you are looking at a ton of work. I'd mess around with photoshop before screwing up a decent old car.

I think it looks bad *** the way it is, my '34 5-window coupe is chopped 2 1/2 inches and I want a total of 4 inches down the road but yours looks good the way it is with the full fenders....I would put it all together and see how it looks on the ground first with everything in place.....either way man, looks like its gonna be a nice rod! ~E

I really like chopped cars, IF it is the right car to chop. And in my opinion, that is NOT a chop candidate - it will NOT improve on the original lines, which is the whole idea of modifying a car.

Don't chop it, it looks great the way it is. I think it would throw off the proportions with that long roof and no windows.

I say start by dropping it, see how it looks, then possibly channel it.

I think I "see" the end result you want. I'd chop a Packard if I thought it'd look right, but that one...no. Here's a few ques for the end result that I think you want. You said no fenders, way kool. You want it down in some fashion, even kooler. So armed with those thoughts I'd chrome the W/S frame to lessen the painted area around the front of the top. I'd bob the frame rails out back and clean up the rear body area and let the tires and stance do all the talkin. At that point the color, stance, final roof hgt, wheels, will get you right where you need to be. The stance can be found on that one real easy. I like to pick a line to get "level with the world" in a way of speaking, and on yours I'd level the base of the door gl*** opening. On the 33-34 that line rises just a bit from the rest of the body lines. Try it. I think the rest of the car will build itself afterwards. Oh by the way...the motor is off the hook. One of the koolest I've seen in a while.

I'll echo the no chop but be sure to slam the suspension and run it with no hood sides to show off the super mill. Wheel/tire combo and stance will make this one a winner. How about a set of Halibrands, unpolished to give it a compe***ion look?

I really like it the way it is but it would be cool too if you chopped it subtle like and 1.5" to 2". Maybe chop the front more then the back so it wedge is at the front.

  15. Ok, I'll go against the grain.
Question is not to chop or not. But how much. Maybe two inches. Really bring out the lines of the car, very subtle. Everyone will take note of the car, few will notice the chop. That's the whole idea............
    IMHO.

I think that 34' delivery is pretty much rare, unique and cool without choping it.

With the plan to run fenderless, I'd be taking a couple of inches off the top.
    This Tudor looks perfect IMO.

Do not chop it. Leave the fenders on it. Just get the stance and the wheels right and be done. Changing the body with a chop or channel and/or removing the fenders will not improve it- in fact, I think it will ruin it.

To me, '34 Sedans and Deliveries look good unchopped. I'm also thinkin' there can't be too many deliveries around anymore ... so that would affect my decision about chopping. However, '34's of all sorts do look mean when chopped. If it helps with your decision makin' process, I did a quick chop on Photoshop just so you could somewhat see what it looks like ..... I'm amazed this place that is rabid about chopping has gone this way.
I'm a bit more conservative about chops, and unless it can be proven to be a good one and can be done right, I opt for not starting.
In this particular case, it's a rare, desirable car, it's lasted this long and I agree that chopping this one will have to be an artist's job, not someone that just whacks out 5 inches to start. I'd vote no.

I wouldn't chop it. I think the rear window area starts to look too long when they are cut. Plus, weren't those gl*** bodies produced in the 80's-90's chopped? And it for sure still needs fenders.

As much as I like chopped cars, I think I'd leave that one alone. It's one sweet ride as is.

Rare body style - if you chop it you'll devalue it in the long run. Downs used to do a chopped delivery - never seen one I liked. My 0.02c.

Here's a chopped plastic turd for ya....

Usually I'm all for cutting stuff up, but on this one I'm not so sure because the proportions work pretty well as is.
If I were to cut it, I would probably do a wedge chop - leave the back stock height and then just take a couple inches out of the front to angle the roof downwards towards the front. This would also give the side panel a nice shape.
I would also be tempted to leave the fenders on because they are such a beautiful shape combined with the grill.
