The primary motive in chopping a car/truck should always be and improvement in appearance without violating safety, driver vision, and common sense.

    This SD does not qualify.

  2. I have had few delivery-bodies , a 37 and 38 fords ,and i couldn´t make my decision about the chopping those... And i sold both!

Have regrets later but now i think that delivery bodies doesn´t need to be chopped. Maybe i´m getting too old

I was in favor of a chop until I saw it in the previous photochop. If you're gonna chop it you might as well section it, it's going to lose it proportions anyways.

Sedans and coupes look good with the chop, but for some reason this car doesn't.

    Don't build a "R@& R*$"...:D

  7. Who has a pic of the 34 sedan, chopped with laid back posts that was at Limeworks a year or so ago? Pics of that car may help you decide.

The picture of the purple/white chopped delivery (and all the other gl*** deliveries just like it) have ruined chopped 34 deliveries for me, for life.

If you do chop it, make sure you don't put a wedge to it like that gl*** one.

Maybe an inch or two, with no slanted posts. God, whatever you do, don't make it look like a gl*** repop.

  9. To rare to chop.
If it needs floor work, channel it a couple inches to hide the side of the frame.

No cut. Ford got that one just right, leave the fenders and keep it clean. It is timeless and speaks for itself, you just ain't gonna improve that. Lots of plastic out there you can whack up if you just got the urge. My opinion.

I'm usually all for cutting up and such. This car, not at all. Everybody else has already said it, but I will jump in too. The rarity doesn't matter to me, but the proportions are fantastic as is. A sedan looks different because of the windows and all, that one looks good as is, with fenders even.

I like just about everything chopped, but I would leave this one alone.

  15. The sedan delivery's have a great look the way they came from the factory, I sure wouldn't chop it.

wow hot topic here :) thanx everyone for their input really helps to start my brain

also really hard to compare to a tudor as the doors are as "short" as 5w and 4door doors, havent compared side to side with an tudor or 4 door to see differances in back .

might look good with 3w doors, or shortened 3w doors to have that rounding in the rear if it would be an heavy chop,

but then again it looks pretty cool as is :), fenders are pretty bad anyways so would either need tons of work or new fenders,
also floor is gone so could aswell channel it a little bit

one thing for sure i would not want to ruin the looks, i still belive an delivery can be chopped with good result but its probally the hardest 34 to chop with good results, really have to get everything right (well doesnt all cars need that anyways when chopped),

think i'll get started with ch***is and then get the body with the floor on the frame quite a while before its that,

anyways my head will be working with all these ideas alot before i really make up my mind,

    Another "no chop" vote.

  18. I like it the way it is, so I vote NO CHOP! I could live with or without the fenders. No chop, no fenders sure does free up time and money!

If it were me, I would definitely not cut anything until the car is set up on the frame with the ride height you want. When you see it like that you will know if it needs to be chopped or not. Good luck!

Funny you should mention this ;just last week a buddy and myself were dreaming about the same thing. Our vision was more mid fifties style; 3in. chop, raked posts full fendered but no hood, probably a white firewall and probably black with steelies and whites.Check out the article Rodders Journal did on Gratiot auto. The gl*** 34 delivery Angelo G. built back in the nineties was billetized but if you squint you can imagine how cool it would look fifties style.Anybody know who makes wood kits for one of these beauties?

Yeah ... definetly no chop. When I recall all the deliveries I've seen, the best were not chopped. Love the motor!
