Thats a hard one I can't deside. Maybe slant the B piller to the same angle as the back glass and call it done.

    I second this thought...no opera window...this is a 3 window coupe!!
No fender skirts...makes the car look to boxey and heavy in the back.

    Nice coupe...great body.

No Chop. Looks cool like it is.

  4. I was going to post chop it and slant the B pillars but Cleatus beat me. Maybe lengthen the door's few inches and slant the hell out of them B pillars, take a few inches more out of the rear and lay the rear windows down to give it a nice flow rather than a 'step'.
    Cheers,
    Doc.

  6. At 1st I didn't like the chop idea, but then after seeingit with the pillers slanted I think it looked great.

Looks like you've been doing some surface rust removal since the last time I saw it! I personally like mild chops, but most of the cars of the 30's weren't as top heavy and boxy as the cars of the 20's. Either way it would work for me.

As far as the door, it would be a cheap fix that would do wonders for the car. I know it's "different", but so are cobbled together rat rods. I'm all for making cool modifications that fix design faux pas.

I'm with you on the hot rod thing!

GOOD DECISION! As a restorod, you retain the factory body configuration, and need to make no excuses for the door. Keep us posted.

  9. If opinions matter, I'll second this one. AND, I agree with the comment on the hood sides. Those are perfect!

Hey Ken-Think Paxton, or Mccullough

    Attached Files:

  12. I agree, it's very unique as it is- don't try to make it look like other cars/customs. Thank goodness you're not going to homogenize it! If someone can't appreciate the lines on this one, tough titties.

Just something I noticed: the skirt with the curved line looks much better than the straight line skirt. The straight skirt not being parallel with the ground looks awkward.

  13. Yeah. And, the mini-tub idea doesn't sound like the right direction to go.

Brian, thanks for the comments eventhough we disagree....Maybe I'm aging myself....I grew up at the NSRA meets in Tulsa in 73 and 76 , I like the HOT RODS....If it looks 80's ? Oh well, I like the PRO STREET LOOK! I really am not asking for approval just comments and ideas....Sorry my plan disappoints you but I think I'd like that build myself! I think it's a cool car and anything done to it is better than doing nothing and letting it rust away!:D

wtf....i guess i will keep my comment to myself. You are going to do what you are going to do . Hell yeah ....its your ride. Just remember , once its cut , its cut.

  22. Crazy ass idea and don't have any way to show it.
The top above the doors looks tall. It has many formed shapes to make the dome.
Just lower the top and reshape without cutting any door or windshield structure. Just that easy? Hell no. Look at a 37 Chevy compared to that car.
Easier stuff, round the upper door rear corners to blend. Quick look at the car.
    Don't chop.
