I've gotten to the point where someone might want to buy this 53 Lincoln. It is NOT a project for a beginner, it still needs lots of rust work, welding, bodywork AND mechanical work. But someone who's talented with bodywork, but doesn't want the hassle of chopping a top, can finish this one. The roof is chopped around 2 inches. It has been converted from a 4 door sedan to a 2 door hardtop. I've installed a Camaro front clip, as the parts to rebuild the Lincoln suspension are astronomically priced. And it has modern ball joints, power steering and disc brakes. The front end components have been rebuilt. A 302 Ford has been bolted in, with AOD trans. I started it up on the shop floor, and it ran, no apparent smoke or noise. But I cannot vouch for how good it is. The front windshield has been cut, but not installed. It would be almost impossible to paint the dash with it in place, so I left it sitting in the opening. The rear glass has been sunken in, and sealed up. It shouldn't be removed, due to the way I've installed it. "As is" the price is $4000. If there is not interest, I will continue working on it, and the price will be raised accordingly. If someone wishes to have me do more work on it, I will do so, at my shop prices. I am willing to work out any deal to finish it, or stop anywhere along the line. say, just finish the bodywork, but no mechanicals. This way you can customize it "Your Way". If there is no interest at all during the rest of the build, I will finish it, my choice of customizing, color, interior, etc. it will then be for sale again, albeit at a much higher price. It comes with fenders, inners, hood, grill and bumper, some parts I have 2 of. NO TRADES!
Update: Rear windshield is in, bodywork on the rear door conversion done and in primer. I'm going to fix the rot on the Passenger door now, might do the driver's door as well. Next, I'll either work on getting it running, or do more rust work, but the price is going up! Body panels are on temporarily, just to show how it looks.
