It is looking good. Ok, how about some changes....

    - move the rear axle forward about 3 or 4 inches.
    - lengthen the door at the rear to allow the door frame to slant towards the front to match the A pillar. (or shorten the roof line to obtain the same look - might be better)

wow... look at the crazy exhaust.
im not sure how i feel about chopped rancheros... the 57-8 prob lend better to the chop because they're a foot shorter than the 59's...

Use 55-57 t bird shapes/size and the look could get interesting.

2chops, I like the first photoshop with the front wheelwell shaped style used twice. Much more refined that a radiused wheel well IMHO. Here, compliments of Southards's book:

The Mustang rear is wierd but the proportions look pretty good. BTW, you'd think there wasn't much going on in the '70's with rods and customs. But I was pleasantly surprised by what was in that book.

Mike-I didn't know that you was such a talened artist until
I saw your early post today. You should display more of your
    drawing.
I knew about the Tiago Ranchero, liked the rear styling
    but hated the front end.

Thanks. I don't post my art too much. Reason being the old time HAMB'ers are sick of seeing them since I've posted them so many times before.

I've got a whole album of my art here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/album.php?albumid=474

Speaking about the rear styling of the Tiago Ranchero. My friend lived in Monterrey, CA and used to see the car on the road all the time. He remembered some of those tailights were always out. Ha Ha, maybe they were for show and only 1 set of them was wired up. We'll never know.

57 Desoto bumper/grille with I think the bottom part of a 56 Merc bumper painted like a pan. Love that Tiago Ranchero, mine wants to be that when it grows up.

Can you guys confirm, If you chop it to a hardtop windshield size, you get about 2" chop?

I'll b doing my fairlane with the same qtr panel exhausts soon enough.

I don't understand the shortening the bed in the photoshop above, The proportions look funny, thats just me.
The Tiago ranchero was shorted because it was rearended enough to warrant a shortened bed, in fact a coil spring, 4 link style suspension was installed.

I have the custom car issue witht he Tiago Ranchero in green on the cover before it was full kustomized.

  22. Ron....To me, yours is the standard by which all '57 Rancheros should be judged. I've been around for a good long time and have never seen one nicer. When I was a kid and the Trendero was built, I thought I had gone to Custom Heaven. Yours trumps them all. Centurion9

    TwoChops,

I really like it. I don't know how to use photoshop, so I used paint to show you what I was talking about a few posts ago about slanting the rear of the side door window frame....check it out....

Mike----Looks good, there are many way to restyle a Ranchero.
But some will only like the way the first one they saw was done.
I don't have photoshop either, just the freebies that
come with my old printer. You did good on yours.

Yea, that's clean. Maybe lower the front bumper a little or add a deeper pan below the bumper. Otherwise you may end up having to chrome that whole front suspension. Does anyone make chrome plated air bags yet?:)

I messed with the front end a bit. I have always thought that the RAnchero's nose should be closer to the ground. I also shorted up the front end a bit. Not sure if I like it more or not.

This makes me want to take a saws-all to my Ranchero. :D
