I'm starting to dig the "coupester" thing when it comes to '30 '31s. I have a customers car in with a bad chop that keeps asking me to cut the top off... Just might happen after seeing this one!

What? No love for the '28-'29's? ;):D

I didn't even recognize that this was a coupster.. I was mesmerized by the stance, the height of the motor in relation to the cowl, the wheels-tires combo, the windshield angle, the color, everything.. until you pointed out the coupster thing. This is easily one of the best coupsters I've seen in a long time. The proportions are spot on.

Many coupsters don't look right because as much as you want to detract your eyes from the awkwardness of the extra space behind the seat as well as the long length of the door clashing against that, you can't for some reason. This one doesn't have that problem.

Wow.. I think I'm in love.

Coupsters don't always work out that well. This little gem, traditional as it may be, somehow snuck into my chopped roadster file. The only T I've seen work out well was Matt Seret's 26/27.

Exactly. Coupsters are hard to make look good.. I have to say, the thing that bothers me about that one is the thick flat cap on those doors and back around the rear edge. That's why I'm narrowing my doors, so they're skinnier after I cap them.

Not all traditional rods looked good back then too.

But look at the owner's face, he's happy as hell.

No denying that! I imagine that's a big step up from a hand-me-down car. :)

  9. Well here's my contribution. I started with a pair of aluminum 2 inch chopped 29 roadster posts, cut another 2 inches off and pie cut them on the back side to lean em back about 6 or 7 degrees to get it to look right. It took me a couple of cuts but I think I got it in the end.

I'm in. I like 'em chopped, but not so much laid back

  13. Thanks for the kind words because I know coupesters generally don't get much love :)

Anyone have a better pic of McCormick's roadster? I believe that's whose it is. This car is killer.

Okay, I'm through for a bit. I hope you aren't getting sick of them. As a roadster fan I've saved a ton of pics and I could look at them for hours.
