Great thread, lots of real nice cars.Striper's RPU looks the dogs ********!Not one cork rimmed bush hat in sight! I'm waiting for one of you Aussies to turn a didgeriedoo(sp?) into lakes headers. That would sound ****in' creepy!
Made it home fine apart from the freeway closures and Flinders St. diversion, But may have hurt it going to CoraLynne today, It's breathing real hard, thanks to all involved for putting a on great show that I'll definetly go back to.. Oh and Greg hopes his smokey departure in the Spinner didnt upset anyone.
great weekend, well done to Ryan and crew from the Flukes. If they did a peoples choice my would be stripers ride.
Who the **** knows? Prob some John Citizen fallin alseep at the wheel for a change..... I got held up that that stupid friggin "freeway" on the way up on Fri nite for over an hour and then the same **** just outta Sunbury on the way back. Accident maybe? Rat
Hi guys, long time lurker here. Awesome show even though we only got to go over today for a couple of hours, but will be there next year for sure. Here's some more pics to add to the collection, hope ya's don't mind. Thanks.
I was sure everyone going crazy on that little strip was going to get us all in the ****...but that was one cool burnout.
hooray! Its hot rods not haircurlers. Great pics! Best quality show (judging by the pics) in oz ever!
****** good show, well done also to the people on the BBQ all day and night -lifesavers! Lots of pranks and muckin around as expected, only nasty thing that happened was the organisers ipod getting pinched last night. Shame when **** like that happens. Only have a few pictures from my phone... This car was probably my favourite, great fun ridin around in the back And for something different, some of the fun being had last night!!! Sean was in great form all weekend, probably had 6 hours sleep in almost three days... this picture sums it all up beautifully!
is the owner of the Safari on here? i'm on the lookout for one and would love some advice. i shot 3 rolls of film on the Saturday, hopefully they'll be up by Monday night. great show, full credit to the organisers and participants. lets do it all again next year!
saw a coupe of hamber cars and a tee shirt or two but didnt meet anyone. one flat tire on the poncho and a bunch of parts got shaken loose on the triumph, new camera was on the wrong setting meaning i have nothing to share pictorial wise. but, nothing ruined the day for our convoy. todays weather was brilliant (except the rain just before castelmaine turnoff) and so was the location, ill take the whole weekend off next year and come up
Bwwaahhahahahahahahah...... That explains why you guys went past rather early this morning... As for the Calder Frank an old dude lost his trailer then punched the barricades. We ducked off and went through Sunbury (saw seans old man in his EH)and down the Tulla, then Eastlink to avoid all the traffic. Only down side was pulled in for a pitstop and killed my starter motor. Broke the spring as I went to leave, so it was push starts till I got home. I did have a spare but figured garage and jack would make it an easier fix rather than roadside. To Ryan and the rest of the Chopped crew, great show with a really good atmosphere!!! See ya next year for sure.
Would that be the mufflers?!!! Blue/white poncho and greenish triumph? Fark that was loud as I went past. Well I'm guessing it was you guys?
Thanx for the update DR.... I did the Sunbury thing as well, but when i got to the Westgate it all turned to nasty **** AGAIN - Im convinced that this freeway is jinxed, or at least everytime I drive it in the coupe haha. Glad you got home ok and have a spare srping - they have a habit of breaking at the most inopportune time. Rat
Nah, stuff them, they make enough out of me as it is hahahaha..... Here are some of my snaps..... Rat
Real sorry I didn't make it to the show ..... again. I figured I hadn't been home for 3 weekends, and what with not wanting to drag the girls around the state when they are going back to school tomorrow, and needing to finalise the robbery reports to the insurance company on the break-in we had a week before I went to the US, I felt it better if I stayed put so I'll say it again ....... next year!!!
Well done guys. Looks like a fantastic show. VERY disappointed I didn't get there this year. Just one thing... Queensland... who would have thunk it???
Started today by laying some lines on the tailgate from a buddy's new roadster pickem-up. Since the first colour had to dry before I could start the next, I figured I may as well take in a rod run, so headed off to Newstead a hunnert miles away, for the 'Chopped' run. Of course I took my trusty Canon, but sadly didn't shoot any '59 Caddy's. Wayne O'Grady's rare '40 Chev Panel Van has been undergoing some refurbishment for the past few too many years, this was it's first time out in fresh paint. Yeah, it's chopped. Richard Dabbs has an eye for what's right, this is his latest effort. This old gal has been in hiding since the sixties. Leighton Rawlings plans to restore it to the way it was back then. This little sweetie was driven over from S.A for the weekend. In fact there was a whole contingent from South Oz. Norm turns up everywhere. So too do Billy and the T Special.
