chopping A 51 Chev fast back

    Am looking for pics and info on chopping the top on a 51 Chev fast back.

    do your research,...... there are two schools of thought on chopping a fleetline....

    1) chopping the top and sectioning the decklid........
    2) lowering the top AND decklid together (sinking the deck lid and surounding edge). easier on 51/52 chevys

    The 1/4s on 49/50 are different than 51/52

    on my car Bill cut down the rear quaters down to the stock tail light holes and the in to the truck lid... then cut 7 inches in front of the rear window all the way across the the car cut the a pillars... then slide the top down into the rear side windows the truck didnt loose any space and we only had to had a piece of metal 2 inches wide down the rear quaters....i figure up the other day that its a 6inch chop in the rear and 3 in the front....the rear quarter window is 8 inches tall and the B post....ill post some pics of it later to night so its understandable what im saying haha its a differnt way to do it if you drop the truck lid all the way down it looks like you extend the rear quarters but you loose the truck space back seat....
