Looking to do a 6" chop on my '29 Tudor and am trying to figure out if it's going to be straight forward. Is it possible to just section out 6" without having to cut into the top more? or will it not quite line up? Looks like most I've seen require a little more but thought I'd see if I could find the cleanest (least amount of cuts) to make it work.
Any advice appreciated. Pictures say a 1000 words.

    Thanks

Old post, but I am working on the same (5.5"). Having a hell of a time getting the A pillars to line up with each other (they seem wider on top). Gonna try making some cuts in the "C pillars" too to get the curves to line up better. I think if you chop it less that 4" it is less work from what I have seen. I definitely will need to section 1/8 - 1/4 inch out of several pillars to get the recess for the gl*** to line up again. There are lots of great pics on here - do a search.

one thing i did on my 28 was to cut the header off ....and notched it....dropped it over the post ....and took care of any problems with the tapers at the windshield.....one other thing....don't forget about the relief cuts in the rear corners.....makes all the difference.....brandon:D

    Hey,

Try both "Chopping Tops" & "Model A" on the search funtion!

There have been several done on here. Yeah, you'll have to make
some vertical cuts in both the A & B posts to make a 6" chop work
on a Model A. Just bobbing off the tops of these posts and dropping
the lid won't give you the look you're after.
