Hot Rods Christmas / Xmas Trees and Hot Rods

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by concreteman, Dec 5, 2010.

  1. I sold trees one year... early after thanksgiving a customer bought a nice 9 footer I loaded it up in her truck tied it down .....they took it home and was back a half hour later crying said her husband was not going to put" that damn big tree up "because it was to tall.. they had the room for a tall tree she loved the tree her daughter loved the tree... she cried its the most beeyyoootifulul "sob" one she had ever had but he said "no way " he's ruined my christmas and the whole idea of agrand big tree i had wanted my whole life .....he said "to not bring this big of one back home!"

can you exchange it? then find me another"I know there is not another like it around here we looked.... for 2 hours to find this beeyootiful one"(sob)

I firmly said" no.... there was no exchanges or returns the tree you bought is yours now ..so you want it out of your truck?
    yes...
I asked the kid how tall a tree they needed "dad said only a 7 footer"
well then lets find you another .. sheepishly they followed me to the truck after I cut the cord I had put on it I grabbed the base of the tall tree reached over grabbed my limb saw cut off 2 feet of trunk

    she stared at me

    then laughed the kid laughed

said her "stupid" stupid "husband was a carpenter and had saws in his garage .. wait until he hears and see "this tree now!"
you are the best tree salesman ever!..

the tree dance is a once in a lifetime thing ...

  16. Our family tradition is to be procrastinators,,we don't go in search of that perfect tree until about two weeks before Christmas.

So,it looks like this weekend we will venture out and see what we can find,,if all else fails we will buy one from the local Christmas tree farm. HRP

<HR style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #e5e5e5; COLOR: #e5e5e5" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->I remember one year my dad sent us out for a tree. He handed me a $20 and said don't come home without a tree. We went to Kiwanas and the Elks but they were $40+. OSH was slim pickin's so we went up on to Skyline. Found a farm all the way down almost on 17 at Bear Creek Rd. One lane narrow and winding. We discovered "any tree" $15. This was 87-88. The farm had been let go and all the trees were 15'+. So we came home with a 15' tree. Dad was proud and I'm sure the $5 profit was used up in gas...

Tree was decorated and adorned in the front yard...

Good memories! Hope to meet you in 11' since I missed you at the Strangers meet.
