I got my radiator shell back from the Chrome shop ,this was $700. The car on the trailer is the before photo.
DUDE!?!?!?! I'd definitely be sendin' that back. They certainly didn't do any copper or nickel under the chrome either. Wow, I can't believe they would even BEGIN to think that was acceptable. A "chrome" spray bomb would look better than that - at least the color would be consistent. Let us know what happens...
What's the rest of the story? Why was it cut and rewelded? And it doesn't look like anything was done with the plating... Neal
You obviously sent it to the WRONG chrome shop. I bet you do some homework before doing that again. The Wizzard
I have no Idea why she cut it in the first place. It took 7 months to get it back in this shape and only after she skipped town. I ended up buying the parts she left behind from the management co., some done , some 1/2 done. She took costumer's cash , some parts and moved to Arizona we think.
I'd half to say that is probably not the same grill shell you sent her. Or is this really a Joke just to Screw with us? The Wizzard
This is scary stuff I have My 34 grill shell at chrome shop now and will not be happy until it is back home. I did pick up the windsheild frame, headlight stands and spoon gas pedal yesterday 450.00 (3 weeks)They said the grill will be one or two more weeks 600.00 to 800.00 with all these places going under I just want it back.sorry about what happened to your stuff . Darrell
No these are before and after, many guys did not get any parts back. Her motto was " Chrome can be addictive " but I think she had other addictions.
I'm lucky enough to have a Grate Chrome shop near by. It's Oregon Plating. There are others in the Portland aria but none as good and relaible. They have had a rep of a little higher than others but Quality cost money. I wish you had sent yours to them. You'd be Bragging about how nice it is instead of where your at. I can't say enough Good about these guys and they have been a Portland land mark for generations. I hope the economy don't take them out. I constantly get comments on the Pontiac grill in my 51 Ford. Considering what it looked like striped before work done it's hard to believe they pulled it off. I'd half to say they are well worth a phone call from you. The Wizzard
Wow I really figured you were just pulling our leg or something. My guess on the weld is she managed to break it somehow, kinda surprised she even bothered to try and fix it. Sorry to hear that man, I've gotten taken on different things, which I've learned to just do myself now. Chrome ain't one of those things....althought I jokingly tell friends I'm going to open up an underground chrome shop since that stuff costs so much and there are so many horror stories..I'm sure the chemicals and things ain't cheap though...or else I might give it a try!!!
