Too bad I didn't think of that first. That would be a swell slogan.

    "High quality.Don't worry about it"

Ha Ha Ha. Jeez. Almost looks like someone highjacked SoCals' dies (or molds), and is now using their own slaves to produce axles. Maybe buying American is a good idea, no matter what.

Looks like ,Land of the two hundred dollar steering coluums, which they also sell.also a bonus ,theres a 14 day money back warranty.Junk if you ask me.

  5. Well It's one of a few things:
•junk that's really only cost 100 to make and chrome.
•They are seconds that cost 300 to make and should be sold as wall hangers only.
•some crackhead is selling stolen axles to DMC
    • or its a typo and should be selling at almost 700

Only cost you 300 to find out and I don't think you could get the chrome done here for that.

  6. That's crazy cheap. I can sell that same axle for $750.... 46" high quality forged. That's a huge difference. The chrome plating is excellent, and costly.

Yeah. 'High quality forged'. 'Chrome plating excellent'.

How are you going to get $750 for this when it's advertised for $300? Sounds good, though.

Bought a real nice '34 Ford axle dropped by 296 V/8, (Greg Haines), and had it chromed locally, and it was a tad less than $750. But it's real.

If its 300 here that means it probably left the Chinese factory for less than 100! I doubt they had the time to stop at the oven after the chrome tank.... For that price.... I would almost bet my life on hydrogen embrittlement!

  10. I sell a couple a week at that price. There is no comparison to the one on fleaBay. I sell a top quality Canadian product. Plating is done in Ontario Canada. Not China. .

  11. Yeah! It was so cheap because its too wide for older cars :p

Running through the rest of what they have it's either low grade or they are back dooring parts out of a warehouse at warehouse or below pricing.

A search brings up Azua, Ca as home base for DMC Performance

I'm curious as to how people even fall for this crap. Logically, if you're doing a price search on an item and everybody you check is asking $700, why would you trust a place selling that same item for pennies on the dollar? I wouldn't have even bothered to ask someone what they thought. It's a sure bet, if you buy that axle, your going to be making a thread bashing the company and asking how to sue and get your money back.

    Damn, people, use your heads.

  17. He finally responded but could not or would not give a brand name, type of material, perch boss size, etc. He did say "High Quality, Don't Worry About It" again though! :D

When I expressed my opinion of the inadequacy of their initial response to my inquiry, they responded thusly :

"We do not provide any technical support service at this moment because some buyers would blame on us if what they purchased would not fit. Please consult your local machinist for technical advise, thank you for your understanding. "

My inquiry was strictly about material and country of manufacture. These people are clueless.

    Dig the hole deeper, folks.:)

Can't you guys spot a CHinese copy when you see one????????Chrome...300$?????
Practically costs that much to get a pair of valve covers done for that, done right!

  21. Well personally I've been approached by thugs and crackheads selling high quality stuff for pennies on the dollar. I don't think anyone needs to ask how they acquired the items or why they are so cheap.

Just recently, summit was selling Hedman ceramic coated headers for 75.00 a set. You couldn't get the coating for 2x that amount and they had pallets on pallets of them for every application and probably still have some. All brand new in perfectly sealed boxes.

Then there's stuff that's so cheap an obvious piece of junk on inspection.

It will only cost you 300 to find out. :)

  22. I googled manufacturers part number listed, but found nothing

    Manufacturer Part Number: YR323C

They could also be complete knockoffs (copies) done by a rogue manufacturer. China is chock full of counterfeit knockoff factories.

They may also have been destined for scrap and were intercepted. Axles that didn't pass inspection (bad technical stuff or merely blemished chrome that wasn't thrown in a corner).

A lot of home electronic seconds float out of China. My Son found a Chinese seller that exports blemished/scrapped XBOXes from an electrical ewaste city. Serial #'s and tags removed...
Its dog eat dog over there with scavengers picking and selling scrapped products that are on their way to being destroyed.

My big concern is that defective axles destined for scrap have hit the main stream.
If one of us sees one of these for $400 at a swap meet, we may buy it thinking we got a great deal on a $650 axle.

  24. I received another email from him this morning regarding perch boss size, perch center width, etc. and his response was " they are all normal size"!!! No specifics, just "they are all normal size". :D

An interesting note about eBay here. I believe I asked a legitimate question through their regular Q&A area on the item's page. Nothing outrageous, just a simple question. If you look at the item, you will see that it says no questions have been received yet.

I can see them editing some questions, but mine? Naaaah,

OR... Someone throws a roller or car together as cheap as they can to flip... A little bling like a 300 dollar chrome axle may be a good selling feature ... Guy buys car unknowingly starts driving it hits a pothole Annnnd ...snap!

The seller has the choice to show the questions asked or not.

Yea, there's a crew around Houston selling the same crap. DVD players, stereos and flat screen TV's. But when you get home, the insides of the equipment are missing. It's been on the news and people STILL fall for that crap. I was referring to a company.

Summit may have an over stock and they are a credible company. If the product isn't what they stated, you have legal recourse. A company on Ebay with NO address or contact info? They may as well set up shop, next to the crack dealers.

I love a bargain, but I sure as hell don't jump without a little checking. With easy access to info, there are ways to spot the crooks and bad sellers. People just have to apply a little effort.
