Hey, I have a '54 Chevy truck grille that I am trying to decide if I should restore it and chrome plate it, or just buy a new one. I really don't want to buy a new on but I am not sure what is involved in the plating process. Anyone have experience with this?

The best way to save money on chrome plating is to do as much of the prep work yourself, before you drop the part off at the plater. Every hour you spend sanding the part smooth, is one less hour you'll be paying the chrome plater to have one of there employee's prep the part before dipping it.
