I know most folks are familiar with Superior & Speed and Sport; anyone use Bright Metals in the Heights? A couple of folks at the Niftee Fiftees Saturday nite gatherings recommended them a while back & the shop that's painting my car mentioned today that's who they use for all their plating. I drove over and looked and the work looked good so I went ahead & dropped off an aluminum windshield frame.

Well, starting them with something aluminum to plate with decorative chrome will certainly be a test of their skill and detail work, won't it?

I just dropped some 49 Ford bumpers off this week at Superior, I should have them back in about 2 weeks or so. They said 2 weeks then they would call for me to come and inspect. I was cool with that and the price and they stand behind treir work (we'll see)........................Kyle

I used Bright Metals in the past, now I use Hector Plating off of Beltway 8 and Antoine.
Hector does good work, and is a little cheaper than Bright Metals on SOME things

It's been a while, but I'm back -- I wasn't too happy w/bright metals. To be fair I didn't go back to show them & they might be willing to correct, but time's not on my side. Anyway, the chrome started flaking off just installing the rubber seal in the bottom channel of my windshield frame piece!

Has anybody used them for suspension parts. I used Bright Metals and was very please with the price and quality. The axel I had them do, I am concerened with it because of another post about my kind of axel breaking. Mine is a 5" Magnum beam, just worried about the Hydrogen Embrittlement of the axel. Dont want it to break while driving down the road. The guy who runs it has no ideal what Hydrogen Embritlement is.

I used a company on airline drive many years ago called airline plating. (713) 692-6369 It was a hole in the wall family run deal and I always got nothing but the best back when the old grandpaw was running the show. They did great plating and metal repair. It may be different today.

I know this thread is a little old but just wanted to show you the quality of work that Speed Sport Chrome does. Just got my front bumper back it took about 12 days and the did a great job, kind of pricy but what chrome shop isn't. I'm very happy with the way it turned out and the turnaround was great. Sorry for the crappy pic but it's all I got. [IMG]

I used bright metals on several projects, I was very pleased with the price and quality! The last time I used them they screwed everything up that a plater could, I told him I wasn't happy and he redid the pieces that I was not happy with and they still looked like crap!!!! Not long ago a friend asked me about their work and I told them of my last experience and that I would not use them again, he went ahead and used them. Same problems I had they rechromed his parts 3 times and he said it still looked like crap.
Last couple of times I was there the old man that used to run the place was not there, I talked to a younger guy. I wonder if the old man left the business for some reason and they are just not doing the kind of work they used to!

Any body used Bright Metal lately? I used them twice, and have been happy with them, but that was 5yrs ago. Reading reviews lately and noticing unhappy people. So anybody use them lately?
