That's likely because over the phone, the parts are in really nice conditon and barely need a rechrome. Once the plater sees them, they are typical pieces and need the typical work; or in some cases they are rotten from the backside and become swiss cheese once stripped. This is most common on thin sheet steel parts.

It's cool to see another plater here. I watched your video a while back on YouTube. It looks like you restore die-cast the same way we do. Nice.

I know Tenn. is a little far away but I sent both bumpers to Tri City plating and the cost was less than 800.00 and they are real nice. They guranrtee there work for as long as you own the car. The bumpers are 1971 olds cutl*** convt. Had a friend had his small bumper at pauls and it was a 1000.00 for one. Its your money but you can check them out ot the net.

I know there is a guy in Bedford, but that is on the west side of the state. He did some other work for me at work. He got into chroming motorcycle parts years ago. PM me if you want more info.

Is Martins of Philadelphia still in business. I had Hurst trim rings done there that had the usual 40yrs of wear that came out perfect, just as good as Pauls but closer to home, same pricing. $$$$$

  5. I've used Labrandi's in Harrisburg a couple time and I was totally happy. Who is to say the price is high, what do you have it to compare too.
