Chrome Reverse Picture Thread

Thanks guys. I've come to the conclusion that whatever I own in the future will have chromed and reversed wheels. BTTT.

 

One of my all time faves...who says wide whites don`t look good on a Riv!

That pic was taken in 1968 right outa hi school. Sold it for a new VW Beetle. Oh well. I've had dreams that this car is stored away and waiting for me.

 

These are 14x7 chrome reverse with accessory center caps. The original mounting hardware was long missing but I was able to come up with the piece shown that fits through the wheel, and the knock-off threads onto it.

Love 'em love 'em. The original F.U. wheel. When I was little dreaming of driving something loud and fast with mags, nothing screamed street punk hot rod tuff to me like a set of deep offset chrome reverses with no caps, spiders, nothing. Just raw lugnuts, exposed axle shafts and bare dust caps . No smoothies or multi-patterns either. Have to have all the OEM bumpity's and stuff.

 

Is Howard Gribble's '67 Impala on here yet?

Yeah, me too. But I also like it with stock paint, just the wheels and no knock-offs. Just totally street.

 

Not wanting to hijack this thread, but what's a good source for chrome reverse wheels that don't cost an arm and a leg, want to run them with cheaters on my p/u.

 

Cool photos from the movie commonly known as "Hard Driver" as shown on TV. Grew up watching this movie on weekend afternoons. Saw it quite a few times as a kid before I realized it was patterned after Junior Johnson's racing career.

 

Real name, "The Last American Hero" with a young Jeff Bridges. A movie every gearhead should have. My favorite.
Here's a sweet one from "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot" Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges. The crazy dude with the trunk full of rabbits, a 12 gauge, and what seemed to be the exhaust piped into the car whacked on fumes. Check out those shackles!!!!

I totally dig it, one of the sweetest 67s (and more) ever.

 

Bought mine through Summit Racing Equipment in Tallmage, OH. Don't remember exactly what they cost, but the 15 X 7's were around $80/each and the 15 X 8's were a little over $100/each. Mine are made by Wheel Vintiques.

 

Coolest wheel of all time. I prefer them with a thin whitewall, but that 60s look wasn't what the '53 needed. The "smoothie" chrome wheel ain't the same thing. No cooling slots and no dimples between the bolt holes. Stockton Wheel make a new chromie (probably Wheel Vintique, also), the model name of the wheel is "The Milner". Nice. They're about $150 a peice, cheaper than a Torque Thrust and 50 times cooler. I've owned this set three different times, they keep following me around.

 

That is the katz azz car from Indy. John Mandebach I think and its a 50's build.

Huh, chrome reverse. Wasn't sure how that one would fly though. That car is definately not HAMB friendly.

 

I bought mine from wheel kid too, they are not true chrome reverse wheels but chrome steel wheels..
