I love the way they look new. Reversed wheels were the killer of ball bearing front ends. Timkin bearings would live but ball bearings needed to be serviced a lot more or they failed. I replace a lot of Chevrolet bearings when working the lube rack at Sears Inglewood.

Why are the true chrome reverse wheels with vents and hub cap nubs not being reproduced by anyone?

These are chrome reverse. They all came from the Radir factory with shallow side out. In fact, I found out in my research on my Mysterion project that Roth had to ask the Radir factory to reverse already built wheels to get the deep look.

The final look is MUCH better that the factory offering.

This is how they always came from the factory.

Here is the tough part. Drilling out the rivets is tough. Those things are HARD!! I ruined several carbide bits but eventually succeeded.

Web popped out. I hade the rim and web chrome plated before final ***embly.

I used a 2x4 box for a rear spacer to drill new bolt holes in the aluminum web. I then tapped them for 1/4" bolts. This finish was achieved with just a couple minute session on a polishing wheel. They used quality aluminum.

This is the rear spacing I got. Perfect. jaj 12-9.JPG

These are temporary bolts. I did final ***embly with grade 8 ****on head bolts with red Loc***e.

This beut was bought right here on the good old HAMB…old West Coast Hot Rod that was given some love with new paint, interior, and rims and tires….I think it’s a just about perfect early 60’s looking Hot Rod… IMG_6611.jpeg IMG_6610.jpeg IMG_6609.jpeg
