Event Coverage CHRR 09 who's going

Taking the Whole Family down for three days...Probably will hang out with my friend who will be running his 64 Dodge Polara "Bewedged" A car that I named and has RevTones Decals on...

 

PLEASE tell me ALL about the Harris Ranch thing

 

I'll be there on Saturday. Won't be driving anything cool to cruise over in though...

Mark Morton (Hop Up) puts on the Rattle Can Nats at Harris Ranch. It's a real low key, fairly un-structured gig. Thursday evening, hang out in the back parking lot of the hotel with some cool machines and a bunch of hot rod type goons, maybe go someplace to grab some chow, maybe have a few*****tails and chew the fat, no real agenda. Friday morning / noontime, more loafing in the parking lot, cool machines/people come and go, a caravan of hot rods to an eatery in one of the nearby towns (good Mexican in Hanford), eventually everyone splts up, some head for CHRR, some for home, some for parts unkown. Quality people, quality cars, always a good time.

 

I'm running my 65 Comet in A/FX,missed last year.Stop by if you have time,all the A/FX cars should be pitted together. ROY.

 

I'm going out for Sat. & Sun. I want to camp out in the pits Sat. night. Would I have any problems with that at Famoso?

 

Nope, there are always campers there, but it isn't free

I hear that guys sleep in their cars in the "show" area behind the bleachers, or at the end of the bleachers

 

I'll be paying for Sat and Sun. I usually camp in my cousins rv trailer and we would park way back in the pits by were they hand out the time slips.This year we wont be having the luxury of the trailer,but i'm down for the camp out!

 

T-3 days........be there or be square!

How could I go to the races and not see Mrs. Nitro! Should be there in about 17 more hours.

gonna be "sick" friday morning. heading out at 3 am with pop in the 39. this will be the first year without a car, but should be helping out on a nostalgia funny car and 2 f.e.d.s

 

Going Sat & Sun....can't wait...I was going through some old pictures and found these pics from the first hot rod reunion. Give me a break on the quality...I was like 11 or 12

I have a lot more....just too lazy to scan them all. But I did do these two...this had to be '86 or '87....I wonder if this was before or after the "blow-over".

 

Damn! there's nobody there. Now you have to get there at "dawn" to be able to park close.

 

Hey Tinker, the wife and I are flying out from London, England today, driving up to Bakersfield Thursday in a rental.

We are good friends with Rip and Natalie Wiley so will probably spend some time hanging out with the Bo Weevil/Godman crew from Memphis.

Our 2nd time at Bakersfield, but done Bowling Green in '04 '06 and '08.

Also planning to do El Mirage the following week.
