I need some help identifying a parts car. My boss said its a 61,but the new bushings and ball joints for a 61 dont fit. I was rebuilding the control arms from the parts car to put on his hard top 61 station wagon. I am replacing the ones on the S/W because of a botched disc brake install by a previous owner that welded in some late model van ball joints. Any one know how to read the numbers on the VIN or the trim tag? The 300 the S/W and the 4 door parts car all look like the same year cars to me. Thanks Greg
Never mind on the ID, I found some old paper work on the parts car, its a 62. Now I just need to Know before I take all this **** apart will the lower arm physically fit from the 62 on the 61. Thanks Greg
Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for but the 61 Chrysler would have a Model Number like an RC1-L (Newport 4dr sedan) or RC3-H (New Yorker Wagon) or even RC4-P (300 Series) Body Style numbers would be 813, 833, 842...Tom
According to the "Rare Parts, Inc" catalog I have, 60-62 Chrysler front suspension parts are the same but you might want to check with them for sure - 209-948-6005...Tom
