CHUCK BERRY performing at the 2010 Shifters VLV car show!

Do they fit the normal viva dowop lineups no...but if they are playing the car show portion of the show it would kinda fit.

 

Hey, I am all for it if they are there. I don't believe they are though. I never saw anything about them being there.

 

I just emailed my wife as she is the one that mentioned it to me. Hell, it was St. Pat day when she told me so I was drunk and could have just mis-heard her.

I will let ya know what she say's.

 

Oh right...yeah, they would be a huge draw at a 50's Rockabilly weekender all right...

X is actually heavily country influenced. While I would not expect them to be on the main stage at a heavily doo wop influenced show It would not be too much of a stretch for them to play the car show portion.

X was part of the punk rock scene in the 80's but they would be more at home playing with the Stray Cats than the Sex Pistols back in the 80's.

 

Sorry for the confusion. My wife is a crack head. X is playing at Ink and Iron this year.

 

Dammit. BTW a lot of X's chord progressions and arrangements are taken right from traditional Rock N Roll.

Mr Ackerman will be setting up the fuel system to run on nitro for the show.

Man oh man....we been bustin' some late nighters getting ready to cruise to Vegas. Got a little drop on the Edsel, new primer on Bennies ride, and some flake for Ricks Bel Air.

I cant wait to see the bright neons reflectin in my chrome....

 

Yeah but remember if it werent for Alex and Tom it wouldnt be in the show.

Between the 2 dragsters it should be pretty incredible

 

Was going to go this year, but I decided to back out.

Mike, serious dude, you gotta go man! Remember, seems like yesterday - back in 98' / 99' or so, driving out to Vegas, getting to the G.C. ramp, driving up to the top lot thinking i would be the first one there - NOPE, you were there with your 59 Buick sleeping directly under your gas tank with a pillow and a blanket - and that was it. Lets reminisce !

Saw Mr Berry at the Orleans a while back. He was having a great time and had every
one on stage it the end. You can tell when someones living there dream/ doing what
there ment to do. And to think... when he was a kid he was in the middle of rasist
america.

 

Is anyone heading out from the Central Valley, NOR Cal, the Bay Area, or anywhere else and want to caravan to VLV13? Theres gonna be 13 of us (4 kustoms + one or two OT dailys) leaving at about 3am on Thursday.... if you are in the area or want to roll with us shoot me a PM.

Who is Heading up from Phoenix and what time are you leaving? Maybe we can roll together and keep an eye on each other. This is my first long trip in the wagon and would not mind someone to cruise with.
