Very sad the lack of support at his statue on delmar this morning as well. It's a shame that so many people from that time are gone now, and so much of my generation and the generation before me don't realize what was lost. RIP Chuck! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Ridin' along in my calaboose Still trying to get her belt a-loose All the way home I held a grudge For the safety belt that wouldn't budge Crusin' and playin' the radio With no particular place to go RIP Chuck Berry....

We called it doing the Chicken. What ever you call it, no one could do it but Chuck. When ever I saw him, on stage a few times and in the movies, I would wait for him to do that. Couldn't get enough of it.
I can remember getting a phone call from my ex, she was all pissed off because my 4 year old son came home from a weekend at my house singing about his ding a ling.....thanks Chuck...Rock N Roll RIP Sent from my 6045O using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
When I think of the words "Hot Rod" I see a 32 Ford in my mind. When I think of the words "Rock & Roll, I see Chuck Berry. He was without doubt unique, inventive and the greatest.
Chuck Berry was one of the greatest. He was probably the biggest influence in rock-n-roll. He will be missed. Rest In Peace.
When i was more of a kid than now and living in the uk, The BBC banned it, this made sales shoot up and everyone was singing it (for obvious reasons..lol), they unbanned it cos everyone made such a fuss that it was banned, I think the bbc "bleeped" the ding a ling words. I loved it when i was 10 years old.
chuck's funeral was last sunday (4-9-17). it was held at the pageant theater in st. louis. gene simmons of kiss delivered a great eulogy; berry's protege, billy peake, was so broken up he could barely speak.
