  1. In response to you PM, no, mine is a keyhole style opener. Just getting this new computer going and need a new card for my camera, I will try and get some stuff posted up soon.

Who would have thought that a thread about church keys would answer how ammunition acts in a fire! This is cool stuff!

:DThe best I ever witnessed was in a bawdy house. Pointed to the one in line I wanted, told her I just wanted #1 on the menu, nothing kinky, and to bring along a couple of bottles of Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer. She did; handed me the beers, turned around and bent over. I said 'what part of nothing kinky didn't you understand', she said 'sorry, I thought you wanted to open your beers'.

Never found a church key in a car, but this stuff was buried in the muck in the back seat of the T Touring I bought last fall. Couple of old bottles, a 1919 dime and a 1927 nickel.

Dunno about the church key answer, but (for what its worth) I found a book full of Green Stamps in a '52 I bought. Rember those?

Used to go to the hospitality room at the brewery down town Portland and these were in cut off beer cans for the taking. Does that date me or what.

TE=Super442s;4970021]Although I didn't find this in a car, but perhaps some other Northwesters will remember when Blitz used to include these openers in their short cases. I've had this one for at least 30 years and it still gets used on a regular basis.

For so many bitching about doing searches and keeping on topic, this has turned from what could have been an interesting topic with new content added into trivia about churchkeys which has nothing to do with the poster's topic.

How about just welcoming the "FNG" to the hobby by adding new pertanant postings like...

I found a 34 ford greyhound hood ornament (pefect condition!) in a 37 Business coupe, the obligatory wasp nests, a trunk full of NOS parts including a tranny worth 4x what I paid for the car, TONS of momorobilia, and many hours of fun. Tools in the doors, bottles in the 1/4 panel. And one Amphicar that belonged to a pool table manufacturer's daughter I found a #1 ball in the 1/4 panel. Even a couple P-38s (or John Waynes) These are the small folding can openers typically used for opening ration cans by cutting the entire top out much like a can opener of today.

I have Church Keys in my ash tray, along with a corkscrew. The bottle opener is Coca Cola, the Can opener is Coors Brewing, patented 'for opening metal beer cans'.

My Ex was a bartender, she always had a cool church key to help here at work. She got it when she lived in Brasil. It said, "Bebba Crush." I guess that means "Drink Crush." Just a guess. Pretty fucking neat.
As far as cool stuff found in an old car. We "found" a shit load of porn mags out of the trunk of an old car behind a guys house when we were kids. It had the obligatory screwdriver hole in the trunk. Pure gold to a 12 year old boy. We were smiling all the way home.

My Dad still carries a church key in his pocket everywhere he goes, my Mom taught me how to open a bottle with the seat belt...

Actually found a pistol under the back seat in a parts car once...

No one mentioned useing the door hardware to open beer bottles. I'm going to the dentist tomorrow to repair teeth I used to open beers with back in my High School days.

I use a bic lighter to open bottles when nessesary. I've got a cool old bottle opener with a ford logo handle on it, it doesnt look like those openers though? The coolest thing i've ever found in a old car is a brothel token from a nevada whore house which was the start of a collection.
I'll post some pics in a little.

  24. Anyone remember this - it's Sat nite, you and a few buddies have a box of beer and no one has a church key to open them.. I've seen some sick ways to open a cold one... the worse was a guy using his eye socket to pop a cap off a bottle...

Never seen that. I have seen guys do it with their teeth. You could do it on part of a car door hinge also. When a young guy needs a brew he will find all kinds of way of opening a bottle.

Found a ticket to a Klan meeting in the trunk of a '72 Nova I bought in north Georgia. The front said "White Knights of Dacula Georgia". I don't even want to tell you what the back said.

When throwing ammo in the fire, the bullet isn't what you need to fear. It's the pieces of the case that come out like shrapnel.

  29. We have our own version of the P-38 in the Aussy Army, its basically the same with a small spoon on one end.
