Glad you're heading this way! Come by the shop anytime. And regale us with your tales of dorifto, 1,000 hp Skylines, hachi rokus, dekotora, VIP cars, used ******* vending machines, and et cetera.....:D

In case any of you didn't know, I am fascinated by Japanese culture. From the ancient history to the modern wierdness. I am impressed by the level of completion and quality of the cars in normal every day shows and gatherings. If you're ever bored, google image "dekotora".

I drive to Concord AT LEAST once a week to hang out with my crew, one hour one way, then I leave WAY too late every week after telling myself I'll leave early to get some sleep before work the next morning. It's a sickness, but we all evidently have it.

One hour...four hours....one hour....four hours....I'd be REALLY happy with one! Now my better half may not agree......

Granted, my drive is shorter than yours Brett, however, I was referring to folks commenting on the lack of a scene in their respective area. There is no scene in my town that I'm aware of either, so I drive to it. But I guess I'm preaching to the choir because you have been to our shop!

  5. Now I got a little tear in my eye. All this talk about men hangin out, workin on cars, possibly a drink or two and oh yeah, something about a goat. I wanna be in a club now.

  6. Sorry about that but that part about the goat just hit a little close to home. You know, this being Mayberry and all.

You mean like this? Haha, I went to an off road rally/car show and this was carrying one of the entrants. Note the toys and game pieces in a landscape on top of the bumper. I love Japanese culture and all the quirky contradictions. We'll talk over sake ;)

I know it's not close, but I still would like to cruise up one Wed night just to check it out and meet some of you cats. That's also why I said it will be awhile before I settle in.

Well here's what you do. Come up sooner if you can but if a "While" means spring time then wait until Spring Autofair which starts on Thursday so you can come up Wednesday evening for the shop night then hunt some parts Thursday Friday and Saturday. Then Saturday night you can come back to the shop for our Swap City Shindig 2011 where we'll have another big party, bands, food etc!!!!

Not sure at this point. I'd like to make is sooner, but by spring my '33 should be done. If not, I can take my truck or my '47 Chevy. BTW, how well do you think a bomb style lowrider would go over in the south? Or am I just looking to get my ***ed kicked? :D

You'll be fine with a bomb. There is actually more lowrider culture here than most think, and the bombs are appreciated.

Sinticket who's an Iron Lord is building a '62 Galaxie as an early lowrider...so it's very much welcomed.
