I ran into Juknyardjeff at hte Steak and Shake Cruise In tonight. Good people! He might be joining us. Glenn
Junkyard Jeff's an awesome dude. I bought a low-mile 289 from him last year and he wouldn't let me leave without his leftover Olds parts for our '58. Awesome guy. Anyone have any updates on this? I don't work Thursdays and am definitely in. Do Thursday nights work for you, crossthread? I work in a data center and have spent over a year working nights before, so I know what it's like. I'd be game for morning wrenching on my days off if you need a hand, though I'm definitely someone with more ambition than skills. I figured out during that long stint on 3rd that I'm about 1000x more productive if I do **** in the morning...
I just got back from my vacation in Florida. Drove straight thru coming home so I'm beat and the phone calls and piles of mail waiting are making me crazy. The Thursday 22nd is good for me. Happy to host it at our shop if you want. It's easy to get to from I-275, plenty of parking space, and I'm sure we can knock out 3-4 cars that night (HAH! Yeah right... Just let me know and I can post directions if we do it here. Other locals are fine too. I'm not picky....... Mac VP
Okies FortyFords place ...Thursday the 22nd 7:00 PM. Please email me the directions so I can get them out to the folks I have talked to so far. Thanks!! Glenn glenn@glennsplace.com
Post the directions in this thread, too (if it's alright with Fortyfordguy), that way anyone who might be 'shy' can get there...
Meeting is at our shop in eastern Cincy Thursday June 22nd at 7:00pm. Directions: I-275 to Exit 63 (Route 32 for Batavia/Newtown). Take 32 West toward Newtown about 1/3 mile to the first traffic lite. This is Old St Rt 74. Get in the left turn lane and hang a left at Old 74. The road will immediately bend around to the right (kind of parallel to Rt 32). Follow Old 74 about 1/4 mile and our building (564 Old SR 74) is on the right hand side. The front of the building has the name "LIN-TECH" on a sign. Our shop is around the back. You can park in front or in the back, but the space is limited out back. I'll be there rain or shine. Call my cell if you get lost: (513) 673-5480. We'll have some snacks and soft drinks. You'll hafta bring yer own beer if you want any. We'll have to close up no later than 11pm. Should be plenty of time to meet up with everyone who is interested. See ya then....... Mac VP
Thanks for understanding the work at night thing ,Redneck I work 12 hour shifts on a rotation. The first question people ask is ,'What the hell you doing sleeping during the day? I have to work the thursday night that is planned for the grand and glorious first meeting of the [name of group here] My choice for a name is Rods Beaters and Bombs car club . And No! This won't be the first time my ideas has been ignored by everybody. But I think it would be a good counterpoint to the 60 or so cars that where in Ciny last weekend with an estimated 50 million dollar valve.
Don't think I can make it, but if -by chance- I do, what are we working on? Anything I need to bring; angle grinders, etc, etc.....I can weld....can't paint (yet) can't do interior work (yet).....
If the FIRST meeting is this Thursday, when is the second meeting? I'm not trying to be a smart ***, I'm just still out west and would like to try to make it down there if I can. I'll be back in town on the 29th, figures huh? Hey dabirdguy, I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I'm looking for recruits for a thrash on my coupe. Any willing metal guys wanting to help replace a rear floor and ****on up a chopped roof some time in July? I'm about 15 NE of Dayton PM if you're interested. Vance
I was really looking forward to this and had planned on being there, but I have a meeting tomorrow evening that I cant get out of. So hope you all have a good time and hopefully I will meet up with ya at the next one! Chad
The date for the next meeting will be decided on tonight. After that I really don't expect too many "meetings", more like "work sessions" or "work/learning shops". Please send me an email To get on the contact list in case you cannot make it tonight. Please Include your name, phone, contact hours, current project, and email address. Also include any date/time preferences for the next meeting. Mack will have some snacks and sodas. Iffen you want something stronger, its BYOB. Feel free to bring your favorite brew. See you all tonight!! Glenn

Vance [/quote] I am willing hands and generally available. Your project will be a watch/help/LEARN for me so I will be there if at all possible. I'll mention it to the group and see if we can get a bunch together to ***ist you. Many hands make light work! This is EXACTLY what I'd like the club to be about. Glenn
dabirdguy, be sure to mention where I live. I don't want anyone to be mislead. I'm a mere 15-18 miles northeast of Dayton, OH in New Carlisle. I'll start my own thread when I get a solid date in mind for a thrash, hopefully in mid July. Thanks guys. Vance
