Hey Guys what is best to use to clean built up sludge and oil on frame and engine bay. I will be using high pressure washer but was wondering if something good out there to presoak with.
    Thanks kool1

At our Family Dollar stores they sell an orange-citrus type of cleaner that is made by the Mean Green brand and it works great and is real cheap!

Yeah I was going to do the putty knife and wire brush job first but it always leaves some hard spot to get at undone.

Ditto on the oven cleaner, the cheap nasty stuff (not environmentally friendly) works great and melts the old grease off great. Just don't get it on any paint you like or get any in your eyes or you'll be sorry.

Once you get the really thick stuff off and want to put the finishing touches on it or for every day cleaning of the oily spots use SHOUT. It is made to attack greese and oil without attaching rubber or leaving a film. Used it for years.

Soaking it in Varsol will usually soften it up, just not where it's baked into that hard carbon ****. A lot safer on the hands/nose;)
